NHTSA Investigates Chrysler Vehicles and Ram ProMaster Recall Over Safety Concerns
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into 232,000 Chrysler vehicles following 89 complaints about malfunctioning instrument panel clusters (IPC). Drivers reported complete shutdowns or flickering displays while in motion, potentially obscuring critical information like speed, fuel levels, and warning lights. No crashes or injuries have been linked to the issue yet, but the agency is evaluating whether a recall is necessary.
Separately, Chrysler-parent Stellantis is recalling 291,664 Ram ProMaster vans due to overheating risks in the radiator fan's electrical circuit. While no incidents have been confirmed, the defect could escalate to more severe electrical failures. Remedies for both issues are under development.
